(…) In Knokke, among the numerous galleries that pepper the Sea front, one always retains me… one more ? No, another one ! Here, no trendy artifices ; only blows the open wind, and painters from all over come on board… Indeed, for the last 20 years, the captain at the helm of her gallery, has not allowed herself to be sweet-talked.  But rather, she has been the one to discover, admire, be moved and share with those who are on a similar journey, the work of Her artists - building around them, in a friendly atmosphere, the indispensable joy that emanates from the collector when acquiring a work of art. Friend, come in - this is not really a gallery that is opening its doors to you, but truly a big and beautiful private collection.

d'Haudrecy Art Gallery founded in 1986 features solo and group exhibitions, providing a showcase for recognized artists and a seedbed for exciting, emerging talents from all over the world. We are located on the sea front at Knokke-Zoute (Belgium) an exclusive beach resort well known for its exceptional nature reserve (Zwin) as well as its cultural and artistic activities throughout the year. Presentation by Thomas Owen (Member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Language and French Literature / a.k.a. Stéphane Rey - Art critic for l'Echo (Financial Newspaper).   Bernadette d'Haudrecy became an art dealer by love of art. Refined and sensitive, it is by intuition that she recognizes the works that suit her, that satisfy her quest, the moment of joy created by the meshing of things that surround her… always on the look out, her soul awaiting.  In 1986, she chose to be at the crossroads of art, to sail on its currents, celebrating the fruitful and enriching encounters, riding high on her emotions, always prepared to trigger them again… and again.  In the gallery, which she animates with her smile, her confident taste, her passion and optimism, Bernadette d'Haudrecy has succeeded in creating a place for reflection, encounters, dialogue and shared joys.  Between the artist and his creations, between her lovely walls and the sea facing her domain, an always welcoming space, there is no room for lies or imposture.  The collector, who by his own choice settles on a piece, and the departure of a work of art that she has chosen, also with her heart, amounts to a double sense of joy, a shared pleasure. This is how, with time, collections become precious and respected by all. April 2001
